Taking things one day at a time will save you miles

When clients come to me, it’s almost always because they’re feeling stuck in their career and/or life and are hoping for some sort of magic pill, silver bullet or definitive road map to a future where they would feel more fulfilled.

Yet often to their initial dismay, but ultimately to their acknowledgment and acceptance, they come to understand as a result of our work together that the only sustainable way to do that is to reflect on their past, to remember, resurrect and/or release it, and to become more fully present in an internal way. This leads to new perspectives and adjustments in how they treat themselves, how they live and work, and what is truly valuable to them — and the external changes manifest from there, as I like to say, “in time and on time.” (Those of you who have worked with me, can I get an AMEN?!)

You can have an idea of the direction that you want to go, but if you have just embarked on or are in the midst of a deeper transformation, you don’t really know how you are going to be or feel or what you are going to want on the other side, so you just have to see how things evolve organically. By addressing the current moment to the best of your ability, you are creating a future that is most aligned with who you are. This is a process that requires faith, patience and persistence over TIME. Oh how our human minds existing in our instant-everything-left-brain-oriented-culture hate that!

And with things happening at warp speed in a Twilight Zone that is shifting and changing at levels and in ways we have never before experienced, the outer world is going through its own massive transformation. We must learn to go with the flow and surf these giant waves, trusting that the right opportunity for us will show up, or we will create it, exactly when we are ready for it. So my best advice for you right now in this unknown territory is to fully “be where your feet are.”
