How You Can Change the World
When you remember that what you focus on grows, you can be a part of the solution to society’s pervasive problems
With all the recent horrific and heartbreaking events, it can be frustrating and overwhelming to think about what to “do” to fix or prevent them from happening in the future.
Apart from the physical, political, sociological and legal approaches, which are complex and I am vastly unqualified to comment on, what I do know is that one way to respond is by developing what we want more of. That way, we energetically counter and mitigate what we don’t want to see and experience by instead focusing on, and therefore growing, what we do want.
In other words, we can all do something because we all matter and affect one another, as I explain here, so we can each take responsibility for how we contribute to the greater whole. Sound a little airy-fairy? Even Einstein suggested that we cannot solve problems at the same level of consciousness that created them when he said, “A new type of thinking is essential if mankind is to survive and move to higher levels.”
How we think and feel about ourselves, the strength of our inner resolve, how we love ourselves and each other, and how we work on being healthy in mind, body and spirit is our individual contribution to the fabric of society, which helps to decrease violence in every form.
We need to cultivate, acknowledge and feel beauty more than ever, and appreciating beauty is one way to nourish and enhance your life. Dancing, laughing and connecting with good friends, meeting new people, and spending time quality time with yourself, especially in Nature, will fortify you as well.
